1. Apologies & announcements
The Business Committee welcomed Lesley Griffiths, as the new Minister for Government Business (substituting for Jane Hutt until formally elected to Business Committee).
2. Amendments to Standing Orders 26 and 26A: Reconsideration Stage
Business Managers agreed in principle to the proposed amendments to Standing Orders 26 and 26A.
3. Amendments to Standing Orders 21 and 27: Reporting on Statutory Instruments
Business Managers agreed in principle to the proposed amendments to Standing Orders 21 and 27.
4. Amendments to Standing Orders 29 and 30: Consent in Relation to UK Parliament Bills
4(i) Relevant Bills (SOs 29.1, 29.2 and SO 30)
The Minister for Government Business informed the Committee that the Government had as yet been unable to secure agreement from the Wales Office to amend DGN9 in line with the proposed changes. For that reason, the Government could not agree to all the amendments at this time and asked that it be given more time to discuss with the Wales Office.
Business Managers agreed to consider further the proposed amendments to Standing Orders 29.1, 29.2 and 30 at a future Business Committee meeting.
4(ii) Information in a Legislative Consent Memorandum (SO 29.3)
Business Managers agreed in principle to the amendments to Standing Order 29.3.
4(iii) Referral to Committee (SOs 29.4 and 29.5)
Business Managers agreed in principle to the amendments to Standing Order 29.4 and the deletion of 29.5.
4(iv) Tabling a Legislative Consent Motion (SOs 29.2A and 29.6)
Business Managers agreed in principle to the new Standing Order 29.2A and amended Standing Order 29.6.
